Wellington Barracks  / Historic Buildings

The Guards Museum in London, had been leaking. The problem was causing free lime to drip from the soffit, which was damaging the exhibits many of which are irreplaceable.                MACLENNAN-LSE WATERPROOFING where contacted by Pride, to design and install a solution. MMACLENNAN-LSE WATERPROOFING carried out a detailed survey and worked out that the problem was largely down to a defective waterproof membrane and joint sealants that had been installed when the building was built.

MACLENNAN-LSE WATERPROOFING soon decided that the best way to address with this problem was to expose the leaking joints and cracks and inject them with Polyurethane and Acrylic resins. Pride were happy with the solution, as it made it possible for the museum to only be closed for a very short period of time and with minor only disruption.

Joints and cracks where exposed. Injection packers were then drilled and fixed into the soffit. The packers where then injected with the sealing resins. The museum was then returned to museum staff in clean working order. MACLENNAN-LSE WATERPROOFING carried out all of the works in the 16 days time frame that was agreed before the works commenced.

The work was guaranteed by MACLENNAN-LSE WATERPROOFING for 10 years and that was underwritten by the GPI which is the only long term waterproofing insurance available.

The Guarantees can be extended for a larger premium if required.
